Winery Review: Dark,
statuesque wine with concentrated, potent aromas of black olive, herbs and
mulled blackberry. Tastes like textbook Carmenère, but without any jammy over-ripeness.
Flavor of racy spiced berry, olive and black pepper are all good, and there's
that patented herbal, roasted quality on the finish, but not too much.
My Review: This
wine smelled of spices, blackberries and black pepper. The wine was very dry with high tannins,
displaying components of black cherries, blackberries and black pepper, a very
dark, jammy wine. This wine needs to be
paired with a fatty based meal to soften the spice and tannins and bring out
the jammy flavors.
